We do not have to go far to find evidence of global supply chain disruption over the last year.Goods like smart phones,cars and industrial batteries have been delayed,because raw resource availability was restricted,are examples we can all point to.For those engaged in the shipping and freight process,long delays in shipping,increased transshipment of goods,cancelled shipments and massively increased freight costs are all part of day-to-day life.So,before we look at how disrupted global supply chains have become,it would be useful to know just how we got here.
