1. The softening of the fibres plays an important role in the spinning of the fibres. For 100% Sunnhemp yarn best strength is achieved when 2% oil is used for softening, processed the fibres using 48 pairs of rollers on softening machine and keeping 72 hours piling time. 2. It is possible to spin successfully the Sunnhemp-blended yarns on friction spinning (DREF-Ⅲ) system. 3. Sunnhemp blended with other fibres like polyester, Viscose, cotton can be successfully spun on friction spinning (DREF-Ⅲ) system. 4. With the addition of little amount of synthetic fibres (10%) with the Sunnhemp fibres, slight improvement in the strength as well as elongation is achieved except for viscose fibres. 5. Higher amount of synthetic fibres in the Sunnhemp-blended yarns slightly reduces the yarn strength though significant improvement in the elongation property is observed. 6. The yarns produced on friction spinning (DREF-Ⅲ) system are more uniform and less hairy and comparable to the standard cotton yarns. 7. The strength of Cotton/Sunnhemp blended DREF-Ⅲ yarn is almost equal with the 100% cotton yarn of similar linear density. 8. All the yarns are found suitable for producing apparel fabrics, particularly DREF spun yarns can produce good quality fabrics. 9. The yarns are found suitable for apparel dress-material like Jeans, Jackets & Skirts etc.
