A FEMALE NEWBORN PRESENTED WITH A SUBLIN-gual swelling at birth. The ultrasonogram (US), obtained several days later, revealed a 16 X 5-mm, oval, fluid-filled mass located in the right submental, paramedian region, in the floor of the mouth. The cystic formation was in contact with the omolateral submandibular gland. A second US, which was obtained approximately 1 month after birth, showed a reduction of the swelling. The results of blood tests were normal, and the patient's medical history was otherwise unremarkable.
