China Customs records that in 2004 China traded with the four South Asian countries Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India in textiles and clothing totalling US$3,058 million worth, up 32.5%, including exports worth $2,407 million, up 41.8%, and imports worth $651 million, up 6.8%. Bangladesh is the biggest trading country in this region with China, at $952 million in 2004, up 28.3%, including imports of clothing from Bangladesh totalling $4,630,000, up 171.51%. In 2004 China exported to Bangladesh $945 million worth of textiles, up 28.3%, including cotton goods $515 million, up 14.8%, synthetic textiles $374 million, up 50.9%, silk textiles $1,810,000, down 21.7%; woollen textiles $33,270,000, up 126.9%, and bast articles $7,620,000, down 29.6%.
