The growing US discontentment against rising low cost Chinese ready-made garment exports has opened up gates for Indian garments producers. Thanks to the backlash, Indian garment exports to US is expected to grow by 50% by the end of '05 up from last year's growth of 23.2%. According to a study by Assocham, China recorded a 117% rise in its apparel exports to U$ during January-February '05. The growth is now expected by 50% towards the end of this year as US is gearing up to place restrictions against Chinese low cost apparel exports.
