Technical textile has slowly become an important part of our day to day life. For the different specific: advantages of these materials, they gradually substitute the different common materials, those are normally used for different purposes. It is expected that by the end 2010, Europe and North America will together account for 50% of consumption, whereas North East Asia (including China) will account for 24%. The global consumption of technical textiles will touch 24 million tons a year by 2010, with an estimated value of US$93 million. For these purposes non-woven will show fastest growth - 5% a year up to 2010. Medical textiles also show a rapid growth, and expected to be the most up coming area of the research & application. In India, huge prospect is there for the geo-textile because of the government decision for the building of the 6 way express highway.
