A COUPLE of months ago, while my Air France Airbus A320 was landing at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, I noticed two brand-new Primera Air and WOW Air A321neos parked next to each other at the airport's cargo center. At the time, Primera Air had already gone bust, and talks were ongoing to save WOW Air from the same fate. These two airlines, created to disrupt the tremendously competitive, restrictive, demanding, and challenging North Atlantic market, have officially gone down the same path. Both Primera Air and WOW Air attempted to throw extremely low fares and an unseen level of services into a market that has historically been lethal to newcomers. The results were nothing short of that: fatal.
