AbstractThe toxicity of magnesium ammonium arsenate (MAA), in combination‐with various reducing and acid producing agents, was tested against the species ofR. norvegicus(albino Wistar strain) andR. rattus(roof rat) by forced feeding andad libitummethods under the conditions of cage and rattery (where seminatural conditions prevailed). The results obtained indicated that sodium sulphite and urea among reducing agents and histidine among the gastric acid producing agents increased the toxicity of MAA both in terms of higher mortality and decreased time of death when compared to control
