Russia's exports of ultra-low sulfur diesel(ULSD)could plummet by around one-fi fth in May as refi neries begin seasonal maintenance,a source familiar with offi cial data has told Energy Intelligence.ULSD exports via the country's product pipeline system will amount to some 450,000 barrels per day next month, down from the600,000 b/d scheduled for April. That would be the lowest volume since October.Rail shipments to ports and neighboring countries could add approximately 100,000-150,000 b/d,for total exports of 550,000-600,000 b/d in May,but that would still represent a seven-month low.Russia's diesel exports are a bellwether both for the country’s refi ning sector, the world’s third largest, and for global middle distillatemarkets, where prices are sensitive to the availability of Russian product.
