Sustainability efforts across the air transport industry are primarily focused on reducing and offsetting aircraft carbon emissions. But initiatives spread much wider across airline and airport operations, including how to reduce food and beverage waste and lessen dependence on single-use plastics.Singapore-based SATS is the region's largest inflight catering and gateway service provider, with the capability to produce 120,000 meals a day.As well as providing airport and airline meals, SATS runs two innovation centers in Singapore and the UK to develop and design food packaging, enabling the company to also manage all aspects of waste.
