US-based, UK-listed bioproducts company Plant Health Care (PHC – Raleigh, North Carolina) is planning to launch two PREtec (plant elicitor response) peptide-based technologies in Brazil. PREtec is a PHC proprietary technology that stimulates defence and pathogen resistance mechanisms within plants, resulting in improved crop growth and quality along with the ability to withstand a variety of abiotic stresses, the company notes. Moshy (PHC25279) is a foliar product registered for the control of foliar diseases in coffee and sugar cane, while Teikko (PHC68949) is a seed treatment that the company anticipates registration by the end of this year for use as a nematicide on soybeans. First stage of regulatory approval for the latter was granted earlier this year.
