Placement of newly designed, silver-plated hemostatic clips around the cervix following sharp conization in 72 women reduced the occurrence of postoperative cervical hemorrhage and obviated the need for subsequent dilatation of the cervix. The construction of the clip is such that it spontaneously weakens and separates, facilitating removal 14 days later.
