South Korean chemical company LG Chem’s agrochemical subsidiary, FarmHannong, has agreed a joint research agreement with the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT). The collaboration involves development of a crop protection product effective against glyphosate-resistant weeds to succeed the herbicide, tiafenacil (trade-marked as Terrad’or). The companies will also develop pesticides with novel modes of action targeting resistant pests.
