year, Fiji's flag carrier Air Pacific reverted to its original title Fiji Airways. The change was part of a three-year overhaul, instigated by Dave Pflieger, previously with Virgin America, to restore the airline to profitability after a disastrous two years of losses that totaled nearly $40 million. Previously a senior executive at Lufthansa, chairman and CEO of tour operator Thomas Cook, senior executive with Virgin Blue/V Australia, as well as CEO of Kuwait-based Jazeera Airways, Pichler anticipates "an exciting new chapter for the airline."
