In terms of mainstream, for the military, this means typically US-made types which dominate the West's arms sales. Within the MPA market, it means the Boeing P-8 Poseidon will be operational with at least eight nations by 2024. It's become the default choice for many countries as they seek to upgrade their submarine-hunting capability in response to the rise in China's and Russia's increased naval activity.
