Rand Peck would have had to contact Augusta Radio on 123.6 (as opposed to 122.8) in 1974 ('Multi-legs', January 2013). But the story about having to hurry to beat the Bar Harbor Beech off the ground at AUG brought a chuckle. I was making a pick-up at Keene, New Hampshire, in an Aztec on an IFR day. At Keene, clearances were relayed through Concord FSS (transmit 122.1/ receive on EEN VOR). I taxied out, did my run-up, etc; during taxi, an Air New England FH-227 landed and went to the terminal. When I was ready, I called for clearance and was told I had to wait because ANE was on a 'through clearance'. Wait a minute, he just landed and will be here for at least 15 minutes!
