The world's "premier" fabric show PV was in international mode this time in Shanghai after its successful show of fashion fabric collections in Paris earlier this year (see Textile Asia for October 2004). In China, 110 suppliers of European fabrics were present at the Shanghai Exhibition Center to demonstrate the creativity of the weavers, knitters and finishers in this growing centre of creativity. Many "bests", aside from the collections themselves were presented to visitors on that occasion, inclusive of hot tips for Autumn/Winter 2005/06 and, in view of the timing, options for linking more closely between France and China after the visit of President Jacques Chirac.
