It is a matter of great satisfaction that for the first time in the last eight years, the Association has posted a surplus of Rs. 28.91 crores. After adjusting the cumulative losses of Rs. 58.06 lakhs brought forward from the previous year, the net surplus amounts to Rs. 28.33 crores. The surplus has mainly arisen because of the receipt of net sale consideration of Rs. 27.60 crores towards sale of the Cotton Exchange Building of the Association at Kalbadevi and net additional compensation and interest of Rs. 1.23 crore in respect of its Shaikh Memon Street property, which was acquired by MTNL.
