LGE Energy was one of eight proposals that will receive federal funding as part of President Bush's Clean Coal Power Initiative. The company will receive 31 million dollars in funding to implement Airborne Pollution Control's multi-pollutant control process. LGE Energy Corp. and Kentucky Utilities have teamed with Airborne Pollution Control, US Filter, Babcock Wilcox, and Icon to conduct the first commercial scale demonstration of the Airborne Process. LGE Energy and the DOE's National Energy Technology laboratory will jointly manage the technical aspects and funding of this project.
