As a reader of Artificial Organs (AO), you may wonder whether what you most value in AO is recognized. As an author, you may wonder how your contributions affect the Journal. It is a pleasure to report that AO is enjoying excellent growth and development thanks to the efforts of the Editorial Office, AO's editorial board, its dedicated reviewers, quality authors, and publishing staff. Access to AO within academic, medical, and other institutions continues to increase. In 2006, the journal was available in over 5600 institutions in nearly every country around the world through Wiley-Blackwell's sales program and through philanthropic initiatives such as the World Health Organization's Health InterNetwork Access to Research Initiative (HINARI) project. AO is also available in selected medical and academic databases in order to extend its availability to hospitals, public libraries, community colleges, and schools.
