All trials to use a spinning flyer as alternative to ring with traveller made in the 20th century failed to give positive results. Nevertheless the potential of the flyer is not settled, as confirmed by the flyer with regulator of tension of the yarn produced developed in 2004. Results of preliminary tests of the experimental model of the new flyer give reason to consider that it may considerably improve on the ring system in all technical and economic parameters. Besides, the opportunity to adjust the force of tension of yarn opens up new directions and new prospects of the further development of flyer spinning frames.
