Global Cement (GC): Please could you introduce Betolar? Ville Viopio (VV): Betolar is a provider of low-CO2 and cement-free solutions for the construction sector. It was founded in 2016 to reduce CO2 emissions from concrete production, increase circularity and raise biodiversity. The company is here to disrupt the status quo. Those that think this is not possible be warned. I used to work for Nokia, a major player in the mobile phone market in the early 2000s. In those days, we learnt of a start-up in California that was seeking to redefine mobile phone software. That company was Android, which was able to disrupt the industry by focusing on software instead of hardware. Today, many former Nokians work for Betolar. We remember the power of disruption and are looking to rewrite the rules of the game for concrete by re-coding the mix design with AI.
