Researchers at the US Texas A&M University’s research agency, Texas A&M AgriLife Research, and the US Iowa State University have developed a sensor chip for plant diagnostics. The technology can detect multiple disease pathogens with 10 times the sensitivity of currently available methods, reports the team, adding that results from the sensor chip are available in about 30 minutes. Furthermore, it eliminates the need for chemical dye reagents, typically used in the diagnostic process.
