The cut-resistance of fabrics is an important attribute for some special technical applications. The cut resistant fabrics of high performance yarns show good performance but they are very expensive. In this study, expensive high performance yarns are combined with low cost regular yarns and their cut resistance behaviour is studied. These fabrics are evaluated for cut, puncture, and abrasion and tear resistance and are found that cut resistance of fabrics is also dependent on the level of abrasion, tear and puncture resistance of fabrics and is also possible to produce fabrics with good cut resistance by combining expensive high performance yarns with low cost regular yarns.
