The US EPA has notified receipt of applications for the registration of several crop protection active ingredients, as well as end-use formulations based on them. The submissions cover conventional, as well as microbial ais. Syngenta Crop Protection has sought registration of its insecticidal ai, spiropidion, for application on crops such as apples, citrus and pome fruits, alongside cucumbers, cotton and soybeans, among others. In July last year, the Agency established tolerances for residues of the insecticide on cucurbit and fruiting vegetables, soybeans and potatoes, among other commodities, following a request to that effect from the company.
