摘要

1. The NIR Values of each single colour has been studied individually and it is observed that few pigments show very high IR reflectance values while few of the pigments are of low profile. When we desire pigment formulation of high NIR properties, pigments of high reflectance are selected and vice-versa. Pigments like titanium dioxide, signal red, cadmium chro-mate, Sudarshan yellow are of high reflectance values and pigments like Red oxide of iron, yellow oxide of iron, chromium oxide phthalocynine blue and phthalocynine green and carbon black are of low reflectance profile (Table no. 2). By the study of combination of two pigments, it has revealed that how shade changes and what happens to their NIR values. From this study, we can choose appropriate pigments for desired shade and NIR values (Table no. 3 ). It is found that by addition of TiO_2 to any formulation, the NIR values of the formulation can be hiked with little change of shade. Few pigment leads special role in formulation, as shown in a, b, c, d & e that Cd. Chromate and has dominating role and when added, it gives higher NIR value. Few pigments always decreases the overall NIR values, for examples - in the formulations mentioned at f, g, h, & i, the addition of Cr_2O_3 in the formulation, the NIR values are decreased due to addition of this pigment (Table -5a & 5b ). Thus, we see that the presence of few special kind of pigments always either hike the NIR values or reduce the NIR values. Formulations mentioned at recipe c & d for olive green shade are found to be best among the others as only these formulations have shown the required NIR values i.e. from 55-70% (Table 5(a). The NIR values of natural leaves and NIR values of recipe c & d are neck to neck. This is illustrated in the Fig. 3. Recipe 'A' is good for light olive green shade and recipe 'D' resembles for dark stone shade but all the same, NIR values of this recipe are high enough (Table 4(a)). Recipe no. 2 is acceptable for Deep Brunswick green in respect of shade and NIR values both (Table 4(b)).
