During the week leading up to Christmas, Basler BT-67 C-FTGI of Houston, Texas-based Bell Geospace was operating out of Southampton Airport on survey work over the south-western UK as far as Land's End. Originally built as a Douglas C-47B during 1944, prior to being redesignated post-war as an R4D-6 and operated by the US Navy as BuNo 50760, it was converted to Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A turboprop power during 2004-05 by Basler at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and delivered to Bell Geospace Aviation during July 2007. It is one of three BT-67s currently operated by the company.
