Subtitled 'The USS Ohskany and Air Wing 16 during the Vietnam War', this is a well-written and comprehensive account of three deployments made to Vietnam between April 1965 and January 1968. It is clearly well researched and details the aircraft carrier's operations and activities from all angles - military, human and political. Losses throughout were heavy, both of men and aircraft, and the second cruise was cut short by a disastrous hangar fire that killed 44 men including the air group commander.
