Argentine seed genetics business Grupo Don Mario (GDM - Buenos Aires) has agreed to acquire Brazilian seed company Biotrigo Genetica (Passo Fundo). GDM chief executive officer Ignacio Bartolome welcomes the deal, claiming the businesses have similar legacies and values. “Biotrigo and GDM have much in common, which guarantees the continuity and complementarity of their operations,” he says. Biotrigo directors and co-founders Andre Cunha Rosa and Ottoni Rosa Filho echo the sentiment. “The integration of Biotrigo and GDM will further boost our ability to produce cultivars with high production potential and to meet the specifications of grain processing industries,” Mr Cunha Rosa says. They are set to join GDM's advisory board.
