A 4.2 m PHI continuous casting wheel, designed for the production of aluminium foundry alloy bar, has been fabricated by Continuus-Properzi and delivered to a customer in Italy. Claimed by Continuus-Properzi to be "the newest and largest continuous casting wheel ever mounted upon a rotary wheel caster", the wheel beats the company's previous records for the production of 2 and 3.5 m PHI versions. The wheel and its associated machinery and equipment have been fabricated for the production of aluminium foundry alloy bar at rates of up to 15 metric tons per hour.
