Bayer’s Crop Science division reports the global introduction of its direct-seed rice (DSR) system with a roll-out in India. The business anticipates the technology reaching 2 million early-adopter smallholder growers in the country by 2030, covering 1 million ha of farmland during the same period. Bayer notes that the development aligns with opportunities it is pursuing in the regenerative agriculture space, adding that it intends to debut the DSR system in the Philippines next year.
