Spanish biological crop protection business Seipasa (Valencia) has been granted approval for its Bacillus subtilisbased biofungicide, Fungisei, in five more southern EU member states. These include Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece and Italy, where the product has been registered variously for the control of soil-borne diseases such as mildew, powdery mildew, and Botrytis spp, on berries, melons, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and eggplants (aubergines). Fungisei has already launched in southern EU countries, including France, Portugal and Spain. It also holds approvals in Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, the Ivory Coast, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey and the US.
