Central Region enjoyed another opportunity to meet up in the summer, with a day visiting two very different sites on 14 July. In the morning, we were hosted by Matt Parratt at Forest Research’s Grange Farm short rotation forestry (SRF) trials in Clackmannan before spending the afternoon in the company of Bruce Spalding of Tilhill at Warroch Hill in Kinross-shire, a large, productive conifer plantation in the early stages of establishment. The contrasting nature of the sites led to a very varied andinteresting day.
