For frequent travelers and those who fly for business, the mishmash of government-imposed testing, pas- senger locator forms and myriad QR codes has become an exhausting and often prohibitive addition to the process. The problem is exacerbated by the way in which the various requirements seem to exist in a state of constant flux dependent on the departure and arrival countries' changing policies and red lists. Information found on different websites can be contradictory and misleading, further eroding passenger certainty and confidence. Much of business travel is opportunistic and often for short trips, requiring agility and flexibility in booking. In many cases, the testing and documentation requirements make this kind of travel impossible. And for those who travel less frequently, and may be less confident, these requirements are a major barrier to demand. As with business travel, the impulse purchase of short-haul flights for city breaks and leisure has be- come much more complicated and potentially unaffordable where multiple expensive PCR tests are mandated. Rapid antigen tests are far cheaper, provide almost instant results and are highly reliable. Where testing is required-for those who do not yet have access to vaccines-antigen tests should be the default.
