DSC is used to determine the heat capacity of compound Bi_(12.5)Ho_(1.5)CoO_(22.3)in the 180–500 K range of temperatures. It is shown there are no phase transitions in this range. Standard enthalpy of formation Bi_(12.5)Ho_(1.5)COO_(22.3)is determined via dissolution calorimetry, based on the enthalpies of dissolution of Bi_(2)O_(3)measured in 1 M hydrochloric acid, Bi_(12.5)Ho_(1.5)CoO_(22.3), and literature data: (Δ_(f) H ~(0)(Bi_(12.5)Ho_(1.5)COO_(22.3)) = −5269.8 ± 18.2 kJ/mol). The lattice enthalpy is calculated using the Born–Haber cycle: Δ_(lat) H ~(0)(Bi_(12.5)Ho_(1.5)CoO_(22.3)) = −99 080 kJ/mol.
