摘要

Leather is made using animal skin and hides. The two categories of leather alternatives include vegan leather (mostly made with plastic coating) and Eco friendly leather alternatives (considered to be good for the environment). Most of the vegan leather is made by using PVC and PL) which are not good for the society. Vegan leather is also known as vegetarian leather as it doesn't involve use of any animals while the eco-friendly alternatives not only reduce pollution, but also help in utilizing the waste material in our surrounds such as pine waste, plastic, fruit waste, plant waste etc. This review paper focuses on the real leather, its manufacturing process and how it affects our environment. It also focuses on the other alternative methods such as vegan leather and eco-friendly leather. It highlights their manufacturing process and how it affects our environment. It also signifies the consumer behavior towards these alternatives and how well the consumer is aware about the availability of these alternatives in the market.
