Urolithiasis is the formation of stones in the urinary tract of cats and dogs that is caused by supersaturation of the urine with various types of minerals and organic materials.1 Urolithiasis is common in both species and can lead to stranguria, hematuria, pollakiuria, urinary obstruction, and, in severe cases, death due to electrolyte and metabolic abnormalities.
