BRAZIL'S FOREST INDUSTRY has been growing strongly in recent years.In 2019,it accounted for 1.2 per cent of the country's gross domestic product and 97.4 billion(USD)of its gross national income.Planted trees make up 91 per cent of Brazil's wood produced for industrial use.The rest of the wood comes from LegaLLy managed natural forests.The area covered by planted trees in Brazil amounts to nine million hectares.The vast majority of these are euca-lypt,which account for 77 per cent of the total.Other cultivated tree species in the country include pine,rubber tree,teak,and acacias.They are used mostly in the production of board and laminate flooring,as weLl as paper,biomass,and energy.
