In these days of constant access to the Internet and an ability to store almost limitless data on a hard drive or in the Cloud, I often find myself jotting down stuff in a notebook that lives beside my modelling bench. My computer drives are packed with reference material on past, present and future projects. There are plans, photos and links to kit reviews here, there and everywhere. Much of that is culled from the Internet but I also have thousands of my own photos from a lifetime of airshows, museums and private visits. My bookshelves are groaning with printed material, again collected over decades of modelling and research. I don't throw out old books if the information is still valuable and relevant. A title published 20 years ago will contain images and information about previous variants of current aircraft or those that have long-since retired, that more recent publications often skimp on.
