North American F-86F Sabre 52-5116 lifted off for the first time in more than 22 years on February 24, from Titusville, Florida, with Doug Matthews at the controls. Doug's Classic Fighters of America organisation has restored the former US Air Force and Argentine Air Force jet over several years, having first acquired it in 2013. The aircraft has been painted to represent 51-2910 Beauteous Butch II, flown by Korean War ace Capt Joseph McConnell from Suwon Air Base. McConnell shot down his final two MiG-15s in 51-2910, bringing his total confirmed hits to 16.
