Construction growth eased to a three-month low in December, according to the latest data from IHS Markit and CIPS. While the figures from the IHS Markit/CIPS UK Construction PMI Total Activity Index pointed to a solid increase in business activity across the sector, the rate of expansion slipped to its lowest since September. Some survey respondents noted that tighter pandemic restrictions and rising Covid-19 cases had acted as a brake on recovery, especially in the commercial sector.
