Alba Mineral Resources is set to undertake a pitting and sampling programme at waste rock dump at the Clogau-St David's gold mine in north Wales. The company has received clearance for the exercise from the relevant mineral planning authority and Natural Resources Wales (NRW). In April 2021, Alba announced it was preparing to undertake evaluation pitting of the rock dump. The objective is to assess grades and tonnages more accurately, so Alba can "proceed to a formal decision on the commercial exploitation of the dump as a whole".
