The International Energy Agency (IEA) says the global oil market is torn between fears of a recession and ongoing supply side risks. The agency now sees global oil demand growing by 1.7 million barrels per day to 99.2 million b/d in 2022 — a downward revision of 200,000 b/d from its June forecast. It projects that demand will grow by a further 2.1 million b/d in 2023.
