July 28 - Wisconsin: SPA AirVenture Corn Roast. Tickets also can be purchased by calling SPA headquarters at 863-701-7979. Advance ticket sales will close when the event sells out, or on July 21, 2022. If any tickets still are available at that time, they may be purchased at the SPA booth in Hangar C on the show grounds. However, the SPA Corn Roast is a perennial sellout every year and there is a hard limit on the number of attendees we can allow on the Corn Roast property, so be sure to buy your tickets early. June 10-12 - Washington: WSPA Annual Splash-in. Tanglefoot Seaplane Base, Priest Lake, ID. Washington Seaplane Pilots Association (WSPA) hosts this annual splash-in at Tanglefoot Seaplane Base, situated in Cavanaugh Bay. The base has two docks, beach, and ramp space for both straight floats and amphibious aircraft. The Cavanaugh Bay Airstrip (66S) is located next door for wheeled aircraft. Accommodations at both the airstrip and seaplane base include camping with restroom facilities. Friday night: arrivals and camp setup, followed by a cookout. Saturday morning: FAA Safety Team review of safety procedures for flying Lake Coeur d'Alene, Lake Pend Oreille, and Priest Lake, as well as local rivers. Seaplane and boater interface operations will also be discussed. This presentation will qualify for WINGS Proficiency Credit. Sack lunches available for your day of exploring and then gathering at the north end of Priest Lake in Mosquito Bay. Saturday evening features a social hour, followed by dinner of pulled pork and chicken with sides, dessert, and drinks. After dinner, Dick Rutan discusses his recently released book, The Next Five Minutes, the real story behind his nonstop, unrefueled flight around the world.
