A project that uses ochre from mine water treatment schemes to treat heavily contaminated soil has been recognised with two awards. The remediation work, undertaken at the Mersey Gateway toll bridge site in Cheshire, has enabled arsenic-contaminated soil to be reused, saving around ￡2m in the process.
