Smartphones,wearable devices, IoT devices, radios, and drive recorders for automotive products are noise sensitive products. In addition, the trend of these devices is for them to get smaller in size year by year. This article introduces a small DC/DC converter module by TOREX called the "XCL series." The XCL series is integrates a DC/DC converter IC with a power inductor, which makes it possible to reduce the mount area for electric devices. The XCL series has a lineup of packages, and this article explains the structure and features of each package. DC/DC converter output noise depends on the oscillation frequency, current loop, and current value of the DC/DC converter circuit. We have examined these output noise sources and how we can improve DC/DC converter output noise with the XCL series. Our XCL series will be able to achieve low noise and minimize the DC/DC converter circuit space, which is suitable for the current trend of electric devices.
