Let me first say I am honored to have been selected to serve as the 19th editor of the Journal ofthe New England Water Works Association. I look forward to serving members and our industry by delivering the same quality and well-respected publication that has been produced since 1886. The water industry is steeped in tradition and innovation; you need only look through the Journal archives to see the professionalism, knowledge and experience we have in the region. Outgoing Editor Peter Karalekas retired after 30-years of service this past December, and I had the opportunity to work with him through a transition period in the fall. A George Warren Fuller Award recipient, Peter has had a distinguished career in the water industry. Peter's involvement with NEWWA spans decades, and he was, and still is, deeply committed to the organization. His contributions to our industry and to the progress of theyourna/are commendable. I have big shoes to fill.
