We have developed the color LED luminaire for UHDTV shooting. The luminaire for UHDTV shooting had to have a wide color gamut for chromatic lighting and high color rendering for white lighting. In particular, the required color rendering was R_a not less than 90, R_9 not less than 85, and R_(12) not less than 80. The newly developed luminaire cleared these requirements by additive color mixing with 6-color LEDs (Red ?Green?Blue ?Amber ?Cyan ?Lime). In addition, we evaluated the color gamut and color rendering of the developed luminaire through UHDTV shooting. Before the experiment, we created a high-saturation color chart with a wider color gamut than HDTV. The reason is that the Macbeth chart that is generally used expresses only colors within the color gamut of HDTV. As a result of evaluation through UHDTV shooting, it was confirmed that the developed luminaire has a wider color gamut and higher color rendering on the TV monitor than conventional color LED luminaires.
