Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) signaling regulates plant responses to ad-verse conditions via persulfidation of proteins. Recently, Chen et al. proposed that mechanistic interplay between H2S-linked persulfidation-and phosphorylation-based regula-tion of SNF1-RELATED PROTEIN KINASE 2.6 (SnRK2.6) modulates these pathways, providing a miss-ing link to explain how plants coor-dinate abscisic acid (ABA) and H2S signaling in drought responses.
