Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) are soil-based microorganisms engaged in an unceasing role of nutrient transport and protection to terrestrial plants, coupled with soil-quality enhancement-like properties. They help to maintain and enhance biological diversity and ecosystem’s productivity and are thus an imperishable contributor to sustainable agriculture. Taking into consideration the potential compensations rendered by conventional agricultural practices, here; we explore the potential of AMF as a feasible solution in organic agriculture with a way forward for its effective implementation.
